The lake by the villa Lemminkäinen: Suuri-Onkamo
Suuri-Onkamo is approx. 12 kilometres long and 5 kilometres wide, while the deepest point is approx. 15 metres. An uninhabited island called Haapasaari is situated in front of Lemminkäinen, protecting the beach from the powerful waves from the vast open lake.
It is possible to launch your own boat from the boat launching ramp next to the villa. The free use of two rowing boats and life jackets is also included in your rent, so why not hop aboard, enjoy the beauty of the lake and try to catch some fish!
Suuri-Onkamo is a very clean lake and rich in many kinds of fish. The most common catch is pike or perch. Try to beat the record: the biggest catch by a visitor from the previous years has been a huge pike of 12.2 kilos!
